Hevea started as a question, an opportunity for improvement. We've all thought it to ourselves, are we doing good for our children? Are we giving them the right tools and love? These are questions that mother Terese Hoffeldt also asked herself just after the arrival of her first child. Are all the products I give her daily to toys or pacifiers that good for her? And couldn't it be better? The Hevea brand emerged from this question.
Looking for an alternative to plastic. After all, plastic is in everything. She herself went in search of countless alternatives and her vision of Hevea began to take shape. By using the natural tree Hevea Brasiliensis, Hevea has become an innovative and unique company. Of course she never dared to dream like this as her question became the answer.
The hevea tree.
Natural rubber is used for the Hevea Brasiliensis from the milky sap of the tree.
The tree takes about 7 years to reach maturity. After this, the tree can release milky sap for about 30 to 40 years from which the natural rubber can be made. The trees do not need to be felled for this, which makes the process great for the environment.
Perhaps the most famous product of Hevea, the teether. The teether is made from a single piece of natural rubber from the Hevea tree. This makes it strong in use and also hygienic. There are various structures on the teether to stimulate your baby. The soft ridges, for example, soothe and soften irritated gums.
The drinking bottles from Hevea are made from a borosilicate glass. Also called a hard glass. The glass is free from harmful substances, is heat resistant and can even withstand knocks. Despite the fact that the glass is extremely strong, it is unfortunately not unbreakable. The nice thing about the bottles is that they can be put in the dishwasher, in a bottle warmer and sterilized. All the easier and more hygienic for you and your child. The teat in the bottle is removable and can be replaced.
